Week 1: 2–8 April 2017
This week’s programme fused the vivid colours of Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé and rhythmic force of Stravinsky’s ground-breaking Rite of Spring, with a new concerto by Mark-Anthony Turnage featuring the “world’s finest and most daring percussionist”, Colin Currie. The week led to two concerts, the BPO’s first appearance at the Royal Festival Hall and of course at Snape Maltings.
