Recognized as an insightful musical interpreter, Karin Hendrickson is equally at home with opera and orchestra. She has led concerts for the London Symphony Orchestra, Belgium National Symphony, Orchestra National d’Ile de France, BBC Symphony, BBC Philharmonic, BBC Concert Orchestra, Nashville Symphony Orchestra, and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, to name a few. Her ability and reputation to successfully manage large and complex musical projects has found her leading performances for the BBC UK that include any mix of singers, instrumentalists, dancers, on-stage actors, electronics, as well as necessary presenting. Maintaining a growing reputation as an international orchestra and opera pedagogue, her work across four continents and her commitment to podium-interaction for any age and ability has spanned the breadth from directing the very first notes of an Orchestras for All mixed ensemble, to working with the pre-professional Concertgebouworkest Young or preparing young orchestras for Gustavo Dudamel, Michael Tilson Thomas, Lorenzo Viotti, and Marin Alsop. An engaging and open-hearted public-speaker and facilitator, Karin has presented concerts and curated various insightful workshops on conducting, audition preparation, and creativity.
